At the helm of The Bento Bus is founder and chef Hanae, whose passion for mindful cooking and community-driven food inspired the entire concept. Born and raised in Japan, Hanae grew up with a deep respect for seasonal ingredients and the beauty of simplicity in food. After moving to the U.S., she noticed a gap in the food scene for healthy, authentic Japanese meals that were also accessible and fast — and that’s when the idea for The Bento Bus was born. Hanae brings her heritage, creativity, and a commitment to wellness to every dish that leaves her truck’s window. Her philosophy is simple: food should nourish, inspire, and respect the world around it.
